Kindergarten, oh Kindergarten (and a sleepover)

Is it possible? Could my baby really have just completed his second week of kindergarten? It seems like it was just yesterday that we were in the hospital being rushed to an emergency C-section and holding this squishy little thing.

I mean, really, how does one go from being this small to starting school in 5 (and 1/2) years? It doesn’t seem fair.

This boy has always been such a serious old soul. Very pensive since the day he was born. He is approaching school in the same way, and I wish he would embrace being a child and enjoy singing and dancing and being a kindergartener. But he has never been his age, and I don’t think he ever will. It will be a challenge for me and every teacher he has, but I am confident that it won’t be long before he learns to love learning, and I think he has the right teacher for the job!!!!

Among our list of firsts these past couple weeks we can add his first sleepover into the mix. He has had cousins stay over before, but this weekend he had a friend stay over. They had so much fun going for pizza, eating ice cream, playing at the playground, and playing at the house. Corey didn’t want to go to sleep or for Cayden to leave the next day.

My baby is growing up….
